Are you making big life changes? Then get you 7 powerful tips here.
I have been reading all over Facebook where people are losing their jobs or are leaving their jobs and seeking a career change.
But most of all, people are figuring out what the real meaning of life is all about. Their priorities are changing and they are finding themselves going back to visit and reconnect with families and friends.
They want to be happy in life.
So they are making big life changes and leaving those jobs that suck the life out of them.
They are leaving bad relationships so they can focus on themselves.
But, change is difficult! With it comes many emotions and the biggest of them is fear.
Even if it’s obvious to make a big change, it’s still tough.
We worry and second guess ourselves if we are making correct choices. Sometimes we wish we knew more about the situation. And we feel stuck. We need to get past the fear and move on.
No one knows the future so we don’t know the answers to all of our concerns.

7 Tips To Help With Big Life Changes
1. Go into it with a mindset knowing you not have all of the information
Many times we postpone big decisions because we want more information.
Of course, you can do more research, but there is always uncertainty. It’s never going to be crystal clear.
Life itself is a journey of:
- guesses
- mistakes
- revisions
As with anything else you do, just do your best and most of … Just Do It!
2. Have the courage to trust yourself
When it comes to making a big change, we fall into not trusting ourselves.
We have thoughts of getting into a new situation and not knowing what to do or how to act. And we head into unfamiliar territory with no answers.
At the end of the day, we need to give ourselves more credit.
Think about it. You have been there before and survived. We all had to start new jobs, create new relationships, and so forth. And guess what? We got through it!
Go with your gut feeling.
Have the courage to trust yourself no matter what happens. You will figure it out.
3. What’s the worst thing that can happen?
When I was in therapy, that was the first question he always asked me. “What is the worst thing that could happen?” So we would think it through.
Here’s why…
The worst thing that can happen is highly unlikely (it can happen, but unlikely).
However, if it does happen, you have already thought about it.
Most fears are created in your own head. It’s usually due to the fear of the unknown.
Once you realize the worst isn’t that bad, you are ready to Crush It!
You can write down all of the things you are afraid of:
- failing
- looking foolish
- no money
- being unhappy
Then take this list and prepare a plan to overcome each.
4. It’s just as much about the process as it is about the result
When we make a big change, we focus on the results and we worry about failing.
The last time I checked, we do have the opportunity to change the process as we go. If we fail, we learn and move on. Everyone fails unless they just quit.
Set your goals but keep in mind, you can alter the plan as you go. In fact, you need to have this mindset or you will set yourself up to fail.
Enjoy the process!
5. Continue to pursue the opportunity
When making a big decision we may get worried we will get blocked or stuck with no way out.
Let’s change the mindset. Think of it this way… “New choices rarely limit your option.”
Actually, new pursuits will give you:
- opportunities
- new chances
- more options
- create beginnings
6. Effort matters, so use it
It sounds simple, right?
But the biggest reason we don’t make life changes is that we don’t try. When we don’t try, it’s easy to make excuses.
So why do we make excuses? FAILURE! We are afraid of failing. Again, when we fail, these are lessons, not punishment.
7. Start with something manageable
You can’t run a marathon without training. You can’t climb a mountain if you don’t hike. If you are not a firefighter, you cannot fight fires.
Does applying for your dream job intimidate you?
Does leaving your job and trying something new intimidate you?
If you are stating or applying for a new position, start small. You might need to learn a new skill or something else.
For me, I am trying to start an online business. I still work my full-time job while learning what I want to do online. I’m starting small. Instead of quitting my job, I’m still working until I get my business to take off.
Some will quit and then purse. And that is okay too. Whatever works for you.
You don’t need the world today. You just need to make small life changes in your own world.
Final Thoughts
Make your big life changes and make them with confidence.
Keep your focus and you will succeed. If you don’t, learn and move on.
Just do it and remember, Think Me First! 💚💙
