5 Toxic Beliefs You Need to Get Rid Of, For Happiness

Let’s face it, life is filled with negativity. And this life of negativity is not created by certain circumstances or a string of bad luck. Negativity is created by a negative mindset. We have been conditioned, whether consciously or subconsciously with repetitive habits. Let’s kick those habits now. Here are 5 toxic beliefs you need to get rid of in order to achieve happiness.

Watch this video to learn more about the 5 toxic beliefs you need to get rid of.  😊 It can also be found on my Facebook Group page, or on my YouTube channel.

5 Toxic Beliefs You Need to Get Rid Of

1. Stop blaming others

Many people blame others for them not being where they want to be in life. They blame others for everything bad that happens to them. Everyone, except themselves.

Don’t get me wrong, people do screw you over from time to time. But there is one difference. Do you know what it is? The difference is between a happy mindset and a successful person, and then you have the unsuccessful or the unhappy.

But guess what the difference is between the happy/successful versus the unhappy/unsuccessful? The happy/successful people learn to “let it go.” They don’t dwell on the past. They learn to move on.

We all have people in our lives that we don’t necessarily enjoy being around or we don’t always agree with. Some people focus on the negative and others focus on the positive and don’t let these toxic people ruin their vibe or energy.

I know if I want a specific goal or result in my life, it’s up to me to get it. No one else. If I want to feel a certain way, it’s up to me. No one else.

If someone does me wrong, I am the only one that can choose how I react or what I say.

Ask yourself these three questions:

  • What did I do to allow this to happen?
  • How can I avoid this pattern in the future?
  • What good came of it?

You can’t get out of things by blaming others. You have to take responsibility and move on. Learn from the process. We are all human and we all mess up. But what we all don’t do is take accountability for it. So stand up, take it on the chin, and move forward.

2.Thinking successful people are greedy or selfish

Before we start talking about success, let’s first define it.

My favorite definition of success is: Success is when you achieve the quality of life that you want for yourself. It doesn’t have to be defined by money or material things, but both money and material items can be a part of it.

The greed you are thinking of is deleted because you create and define your own success.

Think about this. Those successful people you know, what are they doing to get so rich and successful? Could they be providing a product or service, or some value to their customers?  All self-made, successful, and. or wealthy people, provide value to their audience.

So now, that belief that you have in which you think all Irish people are greedy, good bad, or indifferent, they are proving value to their customers. Remember, those who do absolutely nothing, do not provide value to others.

3. Do not believe everything you read or hear (gossip, articles, news, etc…)

I want you to stop and think about something. Do you know someone who gossips a lot? Raise your hand, because I guarantee you do. Now, think to yourself, do you think those who gossip are happy people? I mean, how can they be? If they are more focused on spreading negative talk or rumors about someone else, they can’t be living a quality life. Many people gossip to avoid taking care of their own issues and insecurities.

Now look to your successful friends and family. Do you hear them ever spreading rumors or speaking negatively about a subject, let alone people?

Successful people don’t believe everything they read or hear. But they do research it and make their own conclusions. They form their own opinions and don’t rely on others. Their opinions are based on their interactions with others and of course their own feelings and intuition.

4. You think you need other people to complete you.

No, no you don’t!

This is probably one of the single most problems with humanity in general. People search for the need to be loved, included, and liked. When you search for this, you find an attachment.

Believe it or no, many people can’t function without being in a relationship. Now come to think of it, I know of several. They feel incomplete by not having someone in their life because they have that need to be loved. Note: Just because you have someone in your life, does not mean they are true to you and love you. Most likely, they are searching for the same thing. To be loved, included, and liked.

I will be the first to tell you from personal experience, the no other person can make you happier than the one you are with 24/7, YOURSELF! If you can’t be happy with yourself, you are not going to be happy with anything or anyone. And only YOU have the control as to whether you are enough or not. To let someone else control your happiness is insane!

Now don’t get me wrong, you can still love and enjoy others and grow a little dependant on others, but not to the point where you rely on them. You are important and you need to be satisfied with that. Because everyone deserves happiness. 😊

5. It’s all about the money

Is it? Do you believe that your life, is all about money? Some people do.

There is nothing wrong with making money. Remember earlier, we discussed when you are making money you are providing value to someone. And if you’re adding value, you will not have to worry about money coming in.

So let’s think about why you want money?

  • A: We want money to provide a better life for ourselves and our families.
  • Q: Why do you want a better life for yourself and your family?
  • A: So they do not have to struggle and they will be happy.

The answers all come back to one thing, happiness. And when you are happy you are feeling loved. You want to be successful and wealthy for more love, respect, and attention.

So here is s thought. Ask any rich person and they will tell you that it was no money that made them rich. It was their journey to get there that made them wealthy. All of the failures, all of the lessons, it was the entire journey that got them to where they are now.

There are so many parents that work long hard hours to provide for their families so that their children can have things they did not and just have an easier life.  These parents are so obsessed with money that they miss out on their children growing up, they are not there for their children when their children need them. All children want are love and attention. Not money or material things. They want to be seen and heard.

That’s what everyone wants; love, attention, to be seen, and to be heard. And you don’t need money for any of those things.
