Simple Living – Your Guide To Successful Happy Living

Simple Living, what does it look like for you? When you want to live simply you need to pare back so you have space to breathe. It’s about finding joy in the little things and being content with solitude and quiet and savoring the moment in which you are in.

I have learned a few lessons that have taught me a little about how to simplify my life to a degree. Now keep in mind, these work for me. Perhaps, if you take the time to sit and think about what word for you, you will be rewarded with a more happy and more stress-free environment.

Here is a video that will give you some insight on simple living and get your brain started to find yours. It can cable found on my Facebook Group page. If you would like to join the group, here at facebook.com/groups/thinkmefirst.

Simple Living Lessons

Stop creating your own stress

Don’t set expectations. When you do this, you are setting yourself up for stress, disappointment, rushing, etc. Let go, relax, and live in the moment.

Become mindful of attachments

If you are one who finds attachment to sentimental items, it will lead to clutter. The same goes for the mind. If we are busy with a lot of activities or tied to our phones to answer the next text, email, or Snapchat, over time, our minds and actions become more cluttered. Hence, leading to complex life.

Distraction

“Mental habits” are caused by busyness, distraction, and the need for constant switching. Over time, we develop comfort for these types of habits. Let go of these habits.

Do not multitask

Take joy in focusing on one task at a time. Complete it until you are satisfied. Make sure you are fully present in the moment. When you are focused, things get done much better and quicker.

Creat space

When planning your day, pad the times to allow extra time. This will allow you to breathe and not stress when one thing does not go as planned. It also allows you to not feel as rushed, even if you have a full day.

Find joy in simple things

Be sure to take up the small things you like to do such as photography, journaling, reading, writing, walking, and so on. Some might also want to meditate or go eat a new dish. these things bring joy and are simple and require almost no possessions.

Be clear about what you want

Say “yes” to things you want to do and “no” to those things that do not interest you. The more you say “no” to things that do not interest you, the more time you have to do the things that complete you.

Practice doing nothing

This is harder said than done. Can you do it? Sit there and do nothing. Relax your thoughts. No phone. No TV. No music. Nothing. Just sit there. See how long you can do that, Doing nothing recharges the body and mind.

Again, the best lessons are the ones you learn yourself and apply to yourself. You might be surprised and learn something beautiful about yourself.
